Statewide Tornado Drill Planned for March 1

In conjunction with Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Illinois (February 29-March 4, 2016), the State of Illinois will conduct its Annual Statewide Tornado Drill at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. If severe weather is possible on March 1, the drill will be rescheduled. The City of Aurora’s Office of Emergency Management encourages everyone to participate in this drill. This drill provides an excellent opportunity for facilities to review and test their severe weather preparedness plans and procedure.

Follow this link to a user-friendly form the Aurora Emergency Management Agency is requesting each school, business, or facility complete and submit. Total time to complete should be less than a couple of minutes.

The Aurora Emergency Management Agency is available for site surveys, severe weather plan review, and to provide severe weather presentations.

Another option is to visit the City of Aurora Web Site, go to the Emergency Management tab, home page and at the lower right of the page is a link for the Statewide Tornado Survey.
